SHAHMARAN FAMILY SLAIN IN PREDAWN ATTACK

Two Children Missing Originally, Both Have been Found Safe

The bodies of Mihrimah Shahmaran, her husband Batyr, and their youngest son Hasim, aged four summers, were discovered in the early hours of the morning by neighbors responding to sounds of disturbance.Authorities confirmed all three perished in what investigators are calling a targeted assault carried out under cover of darkness. The two surviving children, Idil, twelve, and Noor, eight, were located outside the city walls shortly before dawn, unharmed.Officials have not yet determined whether the family was chosen deliberately or fell victim to the rising tide of violence sweeping the occupied territories. Hasim Shahmaran is survived in name only. He would have turned five at the close of the planting season.

Garlean officials have denied any connection to the incident. Local law enforcement says the investigation is ongoing, and strongly encourage anyone to come forward who may have some information.

Eight Youths Found Outside District Gaol; Conditions Critical

Eight children between the ages of twelve and seventeen were discovered bound and left outside the gates of a district holding facility in the Dalmascan outskirts in the hours before dawn. The group, all residents of a local group home, had been reported missing three days prior. A patrolling guard made the discovery while conducting a routine perimeter check.One child was pronounced dead at the scene. A second died before chirurgical personnel could intervene. The remaining six were transported to a nearby ward and are listed in serious to critical condition. All eight show evidence of significant physical trauma sustained over an extended period.Investigators have confirmed the children were found hog-tied and bound together. No suspects have been named publicly. Authorities have not issued a statement on motive, and the investigation is ongoing.An inside source revealed to the Dalmascan Chronicle one of the victims is Noor Shahmaran -- one of two surviving children from a still unsolved mass murder which took the lives of the entire Shahmaran family, aside from the eldest sibling 7 years ago. Noor has suffered severe injuries to her neck which are likely to render her vocal chords permanently disabled. Her surviving sister, Idil, is safe and was not among the recovered youth.
